Coastal Law students should get renters insurance to protect their personal belongings against unexpected events such as theft, fire, or natural disasters. Renters insurance can cover the cost of replacing or repairing damaged or stolen items and can also provide liability coverage in case someone is injured on the student's rented property.
At Florida Coastal School of Law, the Office of Student Services recommends that all students obtain renters insurance. While the school's policies may provide coverage for some property damage, it is important to have additional coverage to protect personal items and liability.
Furthermore, many landlords require renters insurance as a condition of the lease agreement. Without a renters insurance policy, students may be responsible for paying out of pocket for any losses or damages to their belongings.
